Sounds a bit like an early track of 'The Smiths'.
Nice songwriting and arrangement.
The mix might need a bit of tweeking.
Maybe bring the vocals forward in the mix and bring down the guitar a bit.
Other than that...I like the catchy hook...'What the hell were you thinking?'
Nice collab guys!!!

Well done to all involved...even me I guess...lol
I love what you did with the words I created. I should mention that you wrote the first verse to this which gave me the inspiration to extend it all. (I hope people don't lose interest after the first verse...lol) Martin has done a fantastic job again with your work Simon. He really knows how to complement something that is already beautiful and somehow lift it beyond any expectations. This is just that!

"Extra flavor" indeed! The poppy feel in this is infectious and I really like how the music works with the vocals on the "ahs". You've sung this really well, Simon, and I have to agree that I wish your vocal was a little bit more upfront. But such a talented trio has made a truly beautiful song. So much to hear on every level. Nice work, all of you!

You guys are right about the vocal needing a little more presence, but given the variables we are working with, this is the best I could do without destroying the mix, which is unfortunate because Simon just did such an amazing job on the vocals and deserves to be heard more clearly - but I am so happy that you guys are enjoying the song anyway. Hopefully, one day we'll rerecord this song and make an even better version !

Kind of a 60's feel.. not that I know anything about the 60's. Haha! I would have liked the vocals to have been a touch louder. Still.. a great overall production!

Nice musical tune.
I like the, arrangement, and your choice of instruments is always an interesting combination of classic , sounding new at the same time. Which is the "Classic" Waldram style.

This song really needs drums. At least a decent metronome or something since all the instruments seem to be going a little offbeat from each other. This seems to be evident right from the start as the bass starts a little late.
I would like to comment a little bit more on this tune but the general lack of unified rhythm is making it really hard to listen. The bass seemed to be quite tight and I tried to keep up with it as it was the only clearly audible instrument in this song.
It sounds like all the instruments were done separately with either latency in the recording or no sense of rhythm.

This track was originally recorded with a natural timed vocal and guitar performance by SImon with no metronome or click track.
Therefore, the natural anomalies of that made it very difficult to play to for the backing tracks. It has nothing to do with latency or no sense of rhythm, I acknowledge that there are the occasional times where a backing part might be a tad early or late, including the bass, actually !
I did make a version where I warped the original track and added drums but Simon and I both felt that it was not appropriate for the song. You may have liked that version better, I don't know.
Not everything has to be quantized all hell out of using Fruity Loop drum beats to sound good, this version sounds better for being a little relaxed and not so uptight and robotic. The majority of the commentators seem to like the song for what it is, in spite of any shortcomings in the timing.

Hi Simon
This is Ade Alberteen. Beautiful track, reminiscent of 'Out of Time' era REM but somehow not actually sounding like them at all. Love the dreamy vocals. Are they ulean pipes? Gorgeous.
